Dr. Lawrence (Larry) Wiser grew up in Saskatchewan and attended the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan and received his degree in 1978. Larry began his practice in Moose Jaw, SK, and then moved to California in 1980 where he resumed his practice until 1984. After a break from the medical profession, he continued practicing in Northern California until about 1992. He received a Master in Health Administration around 1995 and then worked for the Ministry of Health in Manitoba for a short time. He re-entered the medical profession as a surgical assistant in Regina, SK where he spent the balance of this medical career.
Larry also held passions for music (especially ‘70s rock), the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Edmonton Oilers, and Shakespeare.
Dr. Wiser fondly remembered his days as a university student and has generously left an everlasting gift that will be used to support students, faculty and researchers.
