I am a third year Environmental Systems Engineering student at the University of Regina. My journey in this field has been driven by a strong passion for sustainability and a desire to contribute significantly to environmental conservation efforts. I am currently involved in a research project focusing on sustainable water and wastewater treatment to reuse and retrieve value-added products from waste streams.
My time as a student assistant at the John Archer Library has been an enriching experience that goes beyond simply organizing resources or shelving books. It’s also about being an important part of the University’s academic support system. I’ve had the privilege of assisting fellow students in finding the information they need for assignments, midterms and exams, research projects, or personal curiosity. One of the most fulfilling aspects of this job is interacting with a diverse range of individuals with unique inquiries and needs, knowing that every interaction is a chance to contribute to their academic success.
Working here has also helped me become more familiar with how to navigate and utilize the library’s resources, which is an advantage for my own studies. Being surrounded by academic resources and seeing fellow students coming into the library to study keeps me inspired and motivated. This position has also improved my organizational skills and has taught me the importance of patience, attention to detail, and effective communication in a professional setting. I am happy to contribute to the campus community in this capacity.
