Regina Public Library Pickup Location at Archer Library

In May 2023, The Dr. John Archer Library & Archives launched a partnership with the Regina Public Library (RPL) which offered a new pickup location on the U of R’s main campus for RPL materials.

Members of the community, including faculty, staff, and students, can now pick up and return their Regina Public Library materials at the new pickup station in the Archer Library. This opens up access to materials from library locations across the province, which can be delivered to the Archer Library pickup location within just a couple days.

For international students and newcomers to Canada, there are also materials available in a variety of languages.

Also in May, Regina Public Library staff set up a table during a couple of afternoons at Archer where they signed up new patrons for RPL accounts and issued RPL borrowing cards.

“We know that students need a break from their studies and whether that’s by reading, listening to music, or watching movies, we know there’s a need for these leisure materials. So it made sense for us, rather than try to build a collection, to partner with RPL who has an amazing collection across the whole province that can now be accessed by students, faculty, and staff right here on campus.”
