I am a proud U of R Alumna, having graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Human Resource Management. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work for one of the Crown Corporations of Saskatchewan through the Gradworks Internship Program, which led to 5 years of very fulfilling work experience in Human Resources, with a focus mostly on Staffing, Diversity and Recruitment. I then had the pleasure of working for one of our local non-profit organizations as Executive Administration Officer where I learned the ins and outs of governance, supporting internal and external stakeholders and managing very busy schedules. This experience has provided me with the skills required to successfully take on the role of Executive Assistant, Human Resources & Office Administration at the Dr. John Archer Library & Archives, a position I began in August 2022.
In this role, I manage the Library Dean and the logistical arrangements for their, and others’, business travel, meetings and event management, as well as the University Libraries and Archives’ calendar. I work directly with the Library Dean, Associate Deans, and Faculty Administrator, providing executive-level administrative support to ensure that the day-to-day responsibilities and commitments are fulfilled. I process and manage many HR functions, such as facilitating staffing changes, supporting the Search Advisory Committee process, and that ensuring annual performance reviews at all levels within the Library & Archives are completed in accordance with Human Resources and the appropriate collective agreement. I also handle any tenure, promotion or merit applications or nominations for our faculty members.
No two days are the same for me in this role as I am always faced with new challenges and opportunities. I feel honoured to work in such a great environment and with such great people.
