The Dr. John Archer Library & Archives assembled a team to participate in the 2023 University of Regina Glen Anaquod Tipi Raising Competition, which took place on September 22nd. The annual event is hosted by the ta-tawâw Student Centre with the purpose of educating the University community about the culture and traditions of Indigenous people and to provide a unique team building opportunity. The Library & Archives team members were: Kaitlin Corcoran (Executive Assistant, Human Resources and Office Administrati), Julia Creran (student worker in Library User Services), Mason Hausermann (student worker in Archives), Veronica Ramshaw (Librarian.)
“The Glen Anaquod Memorial Tipi Raising Competition was such a fun and educational experience. Being a competitive person, I loved the challenge, but I also really loved learning more about Indigenous culture and values, as well as the innovative structure of the tipi. I would highly recommend this activity.”
