On February 15th, 2024, The Archer Library & Archives co-presented the Aboriginal Storytelling Event “White Feather: Intergenerational Stories Past, Present & Future” by Sundance Robson from the Peguis First Nation in Treaty 1 territory. Sundance created the White Feather experience with the intention to explore topics such as addiction, recovery, community and identity through personal narratives, conversations, and soundscapes. His insightful, moving, and occasionally funny multi-media talk/performance took place in the Shumiatcher Open Stage to a captivated and appreciative audience.
This event was part of a province-wide initiative of storytelling programs that occurred in many types of cultural and learning centres, community organizations and libraries across Saskatchewan during Aboriginal Storytelling Month. The Library Services for Saskatchewan Aboriginal Peoples (LSSAP) Committee manages the program and 2023 was the Archer Library’s 8th year of participating.
