New Way to Pay Old Debts - A Comedy:

A rare 1822 reprint of a play, noteworthy for it’s inclusion the preparatory remarks, “the only edition existing which is faithfully marked with the stage business and stage directions, as it is performed at the Theatres Royal by W. Oxberry, Comedian.” The drama/comedy was written circa 1625 by Philip Massinger and was performed throughout England and the United States. In the donated reprint edition, Junius Brutus Booth (father of John Wilkes Booth who assassinated U.S. President Abraham Lincoln in 1865) played the role of Sir Giles Overreach. This particular reprint made its way from Boston to Regina approximately 100 years ago. In 1953, Maria Trebuss (who donated the book to Archer) and her husband discovered the play in a wall during renovations of their house in Regina.
