My official job title here at the University of Regina is the Discovery Technologies Librarian. Essentially, that means that I implement and manage systems that connect people with the information that they need, whether that need is teaching, learning, research, or anything else. I joined the University of Regina in August 2022. Prior to that, I spent 8 years at the University of Minnesota, where I worked on data science and management, systematic reviews, research impact assessment, research reproducibility, and open science and scholarship.

My favourite part of this job is being able to solve problems, and I love being able to make discovering, accessing and sharing information easier for everyone. In the last year, I’ve had the opportunity to upgrade the Library’s Quick Find search platform, introducing new features like the ability to search within electronic journals directly from the journal record and letting users report problems with records (like broken links or incorrect information) directly in Quick Find. I’ve also been involved in making a number of our digitized archival collections, such as artistic works and historical materials, available as digital collections which can be searched directly through Quick Find. I enjoy collaborating with my colleagues at the Archer Library and Archives, as well as the federated college libraries, to make a wealth of information and resources accessible to students, faculty and staff.
