The main floor display case exhibition, “Cigarette Cards & German National Socialism: Collecting the 1936 Olympics in Pictures,” grew out of a partnership between the Archer Library & Archives and Karla McManus’ ARTH 222 History of Photography students. In the fall 2022 semester, students were oriented to the Library & Archives’ collections and then engaged in an image analysis assignment using trading cards from the Archives’ T. A. Heinrich collection (Accession # 89-44). These assignments laddered into research papers, group presentations and an exhibition of student work in the Archer Library Commons display case.
