Dr. John Archer Library Award

2020 Winner: Idella Maeland

The recipient of the Dr. John Archer Library Award for 2020 is Idella Maeland. She is a 4th year Bachelor of Arts Honours student, majoring in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. Ms. Maeland received $1,000 for writing the best reflective essay about how she used the University Library’s resources and services to conduct research and complete an assignment. Her graded assignment The Influence of the Chorus in Aeschylus’ Oresteia: Visualizing ποιητικος & μίμησις was written for Classics 211 Greek and Roman Drama, taught by Dwayne Meisner.

Copies of both documents are available in oURspace. Idella is the 9th student to win the annual Library Award since its inception in 2012. The award’s online application form will be available through the Student Awards and Financial Aid Office in early January 2021.
